Let’s move from apprehension and avoidance to a life filled with calm and activity.

Today’s Anxiety Relief Message:

“Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life”

If you’ve had a history with anxiety and panic, you may believe some of the following messages about yourself:

  • “My anxiety will never go away.”
  • “I’m just an anxious person.”
  • “I’ve tried lots of things.”
  • “There is just something wrong with me.”

What we believe is what we see in ourselves. When you start on the road to anxiety relief and recovery, it seems impossible to change these ingrained views. At the same time, it’s important to start challenging those views.

Ask yourself, “Have I ever felt relaxed, calm and not anxious?”

Its ok if you’ve only felt that way for a few minutes—or even a few seconds. It’s a start.

What’s more, we can’t be anxious and relaxed at the same time.

Today’s Anxiety Relief Practice:

Take some time and write down:

  • Times you’ve been relaxed,
  • What it felt like, and
  • How long it lasted.

This is your starting point.

So often, we focus our energy and thinking on being anxious, worrying about being anxious, and trying to avoid things we believe trigger our anxiety. We keep practicing anxious thinking.

Time to STOP practicing anxious thinking and START practicing a relaxed, calm self. Don’t worry, the anxious part will still be there.

Its ok if this thinking seems foreign to you, and you aren’t sure how to relax.

This anti-anxiety practice is your first step from fear to freedom.

Just keep seeking out relaxation and the times you’ve felt it. We’ll talk more about anxiety relief options, such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and deep breathing in later blog articles.

Much more to come….

Congratulations on being brave enough to start your anxiety relief journey. You’re brave enough to try. Congratulate yourself.
